![]() Neil & Sharril Wheeler ( 2006 ) |
This site is dedicated to the memory of Neil Wheeler and his efforts in climbing the Wheeler family tree. A journey that started with a bunch of old photographs his grandmother, Mary Moreland Wheeler had in a shoebox, and has taken Neil and his children from Concord, Minnesota, to Wheeler, New York, and to Cranfield, England and back, to the basements of numerous county courthouses, and countless churches and cemeteries in between. This site is only the "tip of the iceberg" that is the story Neil has to tell, as he branched off the Wheeler line to collect information on the Masons, Morelands, Schielfs, Spicers, and many of the other families that tied into the Wheelers through marriage over the generations. This journey also took on more than just family tree climbing, as it led Neil to assist several of his children in becoming members of the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution (organizations whose members can trace their family histories back to actual participants in the colony's fight for independence from England and the American revolutionary war), and his work in publishing the "History of Concord", which started as a simple college paper and was expanded upon and completed by Neil. Finally, none of this would be possible without the support and assistance of Sharril Wheeler. She was the secretary on this great adventure, and, as is always the case, "behind every great man..." well you know the rest. Thank you for visiting this site, and we hope you enjoy climbing the Wheeler family tree with us. And, please feel free to contact us with questions, suggestions, and/or additional information you may have about the family members on this site.
